Forcible removal of a politician, monarch, or clergyman From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Deposition (or dismissal, termination, expulsion, firing or dropping out) by political means concerns the removal of a politician or monarch.[1] It may be done by coup, impeachment, invasion, or forced abdication.[2] The term may also refer to the official removal of a clergyman, especially a bishop, from ecclesiastical office.
