Dieter Flury (born July 8, 1952) is a Swiss classical flutist who was the principal flute of the Vienna Philharmonic from 1981 to 2017.[1] He also served as the orchestra's managing director from 2005 to 2014.[2]
Flury studied with Hans Meyer and André Jaunet at the Zurich University of Music, where he graduated in 1976.[3] He also completed a mathematics degree at the same time at ETH Zurich.[4]
