Diplomystes camposensis is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the family Diplomystidae, the velvet catfishes.[2] This fish is endemic to Chile where it occurs in the Valdivia region in the uspper and middle reaches of the Valdivia River and Tolten River basins.[1] It grows to a maximum total length of 25.0 centimetres (9.8 in).[3] D. campoensis is commercially caught as well as being a gamefish but the population is threatened by deforestation, agr-forestery, damming and the introduction of the invasive predatory fish, the Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha).[1]
