Dongsheng (simplified Chinese: 东升; traditional Chinese: 東升; pinyin: Dōngshēng; Jyutping: dung1sing1; lit. 'east ascends') is a town in north-central Zhongshan, Guangdong province, People's Republic of China.[1] It has a total population of 128,000, including a resident population of 67,000 and migrant population of 60,000,[when?] residing in an area of 79.2 square kilometres (30.6 sq mi). As of 2011[update], it has 8 residential communities (社区) and 6 villages under its administration.[2]
