Doug Cunningham (American football)

Julian Douglas Cunningham (September 14, 1945 – January 13, 2015) was an American professional football running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the San Francisco 49ers and the Washington Redskins. He played college football at the University of Mississippi and was selected in the sixth round of the 1967 NFL/AFL draft.[1]

Cunningham was one of at least 345 NFL players to be diagnosed after death with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), which is caused by repeated hits to the head.[2][3]
