Held annually in the spring, the event focuses on advanced commercial vehicle technologies, including zero- and low-emission vehicles, hydrogen, low-carbon fuels, charging and refueling infrastructure, connected and autonomous vehicle systems, digital solutions for fleet efficiency, and fleet management software.
The event has been cited by national and trade publications for its role in showcasing emerging commercial vehicle technologies and industry policy discussions. In 2025, Trade Show Executive recognized ACT Expo as the Fastest-Growing Transportation Show and named it a Gold 100 Show[4].
The show typically draws more than 12,000 attendees, including 500 exhibitors[5] from over 50 countries. Attendees typically include commercial fleet operators, shippers, vehicle manufacturers, fuel and infrastructure providers, technology companies, and public-sector representatives.
The event has been hosted in multiple locations in the U.S., including the Las Vegas Convention Center[6] and Anaheim Convention Center[7] in most recent years.
History
ACT Expo was first held in 2011[8] in Long Beach, California, as the Alternative Clean Transportation Expo, an event focused on alternative fuels, low-emission vehicles, and sustainability in commercial transportation.
In 2017, the event was renamed Advanced Clean Transportation Expo to reflect a broader focus on advanced vehicle technologies including electrification, hydrogen, automation, and efficiency-focused systems used in commercial fleets.
By 2026, the event adopted the simplified name ACT Expo, highlighting its increased focus on digital technologies[9]such as autonomy, digital fleet management, software-defined vehicles, and artificial intelligence.[10]
Since its founding, ACT Expo has grown into one of the largest commercial fleet technology[11] gatherings in North America[12], attracting thousands of attendees and exhibitors annually.
Event Highlights
ACT Expo features a multi-track conference program, an exhibit hall, and interactive ride-and-drive event[13] that highlights the latest technologies in commercial fleet operations. The conference agenda includes keynote sessions, technical workshops, and educational tracks covering:
- Zero-emission vehicle deployment and electrification strategies
- Hydrogen and low-carbon fuels
- Charging and refueling infrastructure development
- Fleet software, telematics, and data-driven fleet management tools
- Autonomous systems, advanced vehicle safety technologies, and regulatory policy affecting commercial transportation
Sessions emphasize peer-to-peer learning through real-world fleet case studies curated by TRC and the High-Volume Fleet Planning Committee.
The expo hall showcases more than 200[14] low- and zero-emission vehicles, along with fueling, charging, and telematics solutions from leading manufacturers and technology providers. The Ride & Drive experience allows attendees to test vehicles ranging from light-duty service vans to Class 8 trucks, highlighting the latest models available for commercial deployment.
In addition to exhibits, ACT Expo hosts multiple media events where OEMs, technology developers, and fleets unveil new vehicles, introduce emerging technologies, and announce partnerships that influence commercial transportation trends. These announcements generate national and trade-press coverage.
