Draft:Acetate fermentation
Non-respiratory metabolic process where acetate is the final product
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Acetate fermentation is a fermentation process where the final product is acetate – the conjugate base of acetic acid. It is different from acetogenesis – sometimes called homoacetogenesis – where acetate is produced by reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2), which is a form of anaerobic respiration;[1] acetate fermentation does not involve any form of cellular respiration.
