Ajay Taneja

Professor Ajay Taneja is an Indian environmental chemist and academic administrator who is currently serving as the Vice Chancellor[1] of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University Lucknow. He has also worked as a Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean of Faculty of Science, Director IQAC Dean Research at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Agra also known as the Agra University.

Early life and education

Ajay Taneja was born on 8 September 1967 in Olvakot, Palghat (now Palakkad), Kerala, India.

He completed his schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya, and pursued his higher education in Chemistry at St. John's College, Agra University.

He obtained his M.Sc. in Chemistry in 1988 with first division and subsequently qualified the CSIR–UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) in Chemical Sciences in 1989. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from St. John's College, Agra University, in 1991.

Academic career

  • Served as Professor of Chemistry and later was promoted as Dean of Science at Dr. Ambedkar University, Agra.
  • Professor Ajay Taneja was appointed as the Pro Vice Chancellor at DBRAU, and he has been a fellow/member of many societies, including the Indian Council of Chemists, Indian Chemical Society, Life Member of Indian Association for Environment Management, Indian Aerosol Science and Technology, and the National Academy of Science, Allahabad, etc.
  • He was appointed as the Vice Chancellor[4][5][6][7] of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University in April 2025 and is serving as the current Vice Chancellor of the University.
