Alessandro Heaney (born 21 July 2002) is a rugby union player who plays as a prop. He has played professionally in England and the United States, including appearances for Harlequins in the Premiership Rugby Cup and in Major League Rugby with Rugby FC Los Angeles and Anthem Rugby Carolina.

Early life and education
Heaney was educated at Wellington College and later studied astrophysics at University College Cork while playing club rugby in Ireland.
During his early rugby career he represented Cork Constitution RFC in the Energia All-Ireland League.
Professional career
Rugby FC Los Angeles
Heaney began his professional career in the United States with Rugby FC Los Angeles in Major League Rugby.
Cornish Pirates
In 2025 he joined Cornish Pirates in the RFU Championship after previously playing in Major League Rugby.[1]
He made multiple appearances for the Cornish club before departing during the 2025–26 season.[1]
Harlequins
In February 2026 Heaney signed a short-term contract with Harlequins to provide cover at loosehead prop during the Premiership Rugby Cup block of fixtures.[2]
During this period he made two starting appearances in the Premiership Rugby Cup.[3]
Anthem Rugby Carolina
Following his spell in England, Heaney returned to the United States to join Anthem Rugby Carolina in Major League Rugby.[1]
