Early life
Born in Towson, Maryland to Iranian-American parents, Hormozi grew up in the United States. Hormozi attended Gilman School in his early years and later graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Science in Human & Organizational Development, concentrating on corporate strategy. [2]

United Fitness
In 2013, Hormozi founded United Fitness, a chain of gyms which he expanded to six locations before exiting in 2016. [2]
Gym Launch
In 2016, Hormozi co-founded Gym Launch with Leila Hormozi, initially providing on-site consulting to gym owners. By 2017, Gym Launch evolved into a licensing model to provide marketing, sales and retention to other facilities.[2]
Prestige Labs
In 2018, Hormozi co-founded Prestige Labs with his wife Leila Hormozi as a sister company to Gym Launch, a supplement line marketed to gyms. Hormozi and Leila Hormozi sold a 66% stake in Gym Launch and Prestige Labs to American Pacific Group for $46.2 million in 2021. By the time of the acquisition, Gym Launch had helped over 4,500 gyms.[2][4][5]
ALAN
In 2019, Hormozi co-founded ALAN, later rebranded as UseAlan with Leila Hormozi, a software company designed to automate lead nurturing for brick-and-mortar businesses. They sold a majority stake in ALAN to a strategic partner in 2021.[6] [2]
Acquisition.com
In 2020, Hormozi co-founded Acquisition.com with Leila Hormozi, an investment vehicle and holding company focused on acquiring and scaling businesses. The company provides capital, operational guidance, and strategic support to help portfolio companies grow. [2]
Skool.com
In January 2024, Hormozi partnered with Skool.com, co-founding The Skool Games, a competition involving Skool communities, alongside Skool.com CEO Sam Ovens.[2][7]

Recognition
On August 17, 2025, Hormozi set a world record for the fastest-selling non-fiction book in a single day, selling 2,917,443 copies of his book, $100M Money Models.[2][8] This beat the previous record which was held by Prince Harry and his book "Spare" at 1.43 million copies.[9]
