Rasheed was born in Malé, the capital of the Maldives. He completed his education at Majeediyya School, one of the oldest and most prominent government schools in the Maldives, established in 1927.^{[1][circular reference]}

Rasheed began his career as a cameraman in 1991 at Television Maldives, the national television broadcaster of the Maldives.^{[2][circular reference]}

Television Maldives operates under Public Service Media, the state-owned broadcasting organization responsible for television, radio and digital media services in the country.^{[3][circular reference]}

Over the following decades, Rasheed worked as a videographer and editor across various Maldivian film productions and television projects. His work includes feature films, music video productions and serialized drama programs.

In later years he also became involved in web-series and television productions produced for private broadcasters including Sun Siyam TV, a Maldivian television channel launched in 2023 and operated by Sun Siyam Media.^{[4][circular reference]}
