Early life and education

Ali Sheikhani was born in Karachi, Pakistan, and immigrated to the United States at the age of 19. He settled in Houston, Texas, where he began his entrepreneurial journey by working at a local gas station. In 2009, he acquired his own gas station and expanded into the mobile phone retail market. Over time, he diversified his business interests to include retail, construction, real estate, logistics, and philanthropy through the Sheikhani Group of Companies. Sheikhani holds a degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston–Downtown and graduated from the police academy in 2019.

Business career

Sheikhani founded the Sheikhani Group of Companies in 2012, serving as its CEO. The group has grown into a diversified conglomerate with interests spanning retail and e-commerce, food and beverage, energy and gas stations, real estate, equity investment, distribution, consumer products, and philanthropy. In June 2024, Sheikhani made headlines with a bold public statement on Instagram expressing his ambition to purchase K-Electric, Karachi’s primary power supplier, in an effort to address the city’s long-standing problem of load shedding.

Political career

In the 2024 general election, Sheikhani ran for Fort Bend County Constable to represent Precinct 3. He won the election with 52.1% of the vote, defeating incumbent Nabil Shike. Sheikhani made history as the first Pakistani-born Republican elected official in Fort Bend County. He assumed office on January 1, 2025.

Personal life

Ali Sheikhani is married to Annum Idrees, and they have two children. He maintains a largely private family life while occasionally sharing glimpses of personal moments on social media, reflecting his commitment to both family and public service.[3]
