All France Rugby Club
All France Rugby Club (AFRC) is an amateur rugby union club based in Tokyo, Japan.
History
The club was founded in 1987 by French and international expatriates living in Japan[1]. It was established during a period of growing international interest in rugby following the first Rugby World Cup held that same year.[2]
The club has since developed within Tokyo's amateur rugby scene and is associated with the expatriate rugby community in the city.[3]
Organisation
The club is run by volunteers and managed by a committee composed of a president, secretary, coaches and other members involved in the organisation of sporting and social activities.[2]
The club includes several dozen players, as well as non-playing members who take part in its activities.
Sporting activities
The club participate in local competitions, including the Shuto League, an amateur rugby competition in Tokyo.[1][4]
In addition to league play, the club participates in friendly matches against other Tokyo-based teams, rugby tens tournaments, and international tours in Asia, including events in Thailand and the Philippines.[3]
The club is part of a broader network of international amateur rugby teams in Tokyo, alongside clubs such as the Tokyo Gaijins.[5]
