Amos Franklin Breed (October 15, 1830–May 22,1900) was a businessman and politician in Massachusetts. He was a bank and railway president and served in the state house and state senate in Massachusetts.
He was born in Lynn, Massachusetts to Amos Breed and Frances (Fanny) née Reed Breed.[1]
He lived in Lynn, Massachusetts in Essex County, Massachusetts. He was president of the First National Bank of Lynn.[2] He was manager and president of the Lynn & Boston Streey Railway and president of the Massachusetts Electric Railway.[3]
A Republican he served on the common council and board of aldermen. He served in the state legislature in 1865 and 1866 and was a member of the Massachusetts Senate in 1877 and 1878. In 1880 and 1896 he was a delegates to the Republican National Convention.[4]
He married Mary Ann Lindsey. He was survived by two sons including Amos Franklin Breed Jr. Jr. lived at 19 Union Street .[5] The home was photographed. There were many Breeds in Lynn.[6]
