Amy Canavan is a Scottish sports journalist, television presenter and football commentator, known for her work on BBC Scotland's Sportscene and A View from the Terrace. She has presented and commentated for BBC Scotland's weekly Scottish Women's Premier League highlights show,[1] as well as presenting live coverage of Scottish Cup, Scottish Championship and Scotland international matches.[2] She is also an on-screen reporter, conducting pre and post-match interviews. As a journalist, Canavan is a regular contributor on the BBC Sport website.[3]

Canavan has been described as 'one of the most recognisable young voices at BBC Sport Scotland'[4]. In 2023 she was named in The Young Women's Movement '30 Under 30' list. [5]
Since 2022, Canavan has been a regular panel member on the BBC Scotland cult football show A View from the Terrace [6] and its associated podcast The Terrace Scottish Football Podcast [7]
Canavan was born in Dalkeith and studied journalism at Edinburgh Napier University. She supports Celtic F.C. and Bonnyrigg Rose F.C.[8] where she first cut her teeth as a journalist.[9]
