Early Life and Education
Kaiser was born and raised in the Niagara region of Ontario. She was introduced early to the wine business, hospitality, and tourism. Her first job was as a tour guide at a winery, where she welcomed visitors from around the world and educated them on grape growing and the production of Canadian icewine.[2]
She pursued post-secondary education at the University of Guelph, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. Following her graduation, she returned to the Niagara region to begin her professional career and start a family.[2]
Career
Hospitality and Wine Industry
Following her return to Niagara, Kaiser managed a family-owned hotel and restaurant in Niagara-on-the-Lake for over a decade, balancing business operations while raising her children. After selling the hospitality business, she returned to the wine industry, taking on the role of Director of Marketing and Tourism at Reif Estate Winery.[2]
In this position, which she held for approximately two decades, Kaiser led initiatives in sales, public relations, tourism development, marketing, and community relations. Her work contributed to the promotion of Niagara wines domestically and internationally, with a focus on wine tourism and regional branding.[2]
Drea’s Wine Co.
In 2019, Kaiser founded Drea’s Wine Co., a wine brand based in Niagara. The company reflects Kaiser’s lifelong exposure to the wine industry and builds on the winemaking legacy of her father, Karl J. Kaiser, co-founder of Inniskillin Wines. Drea’s Wine Co. produces small-lot wines, wines made in limited quantities from selected Ontario vineyard sources, and draws on Kaiser’s professional experience in marketing, and wine tourism.[2]
Business Ventures and Marketing
In addition to her work in the wine industry, Kaiser has been involved in branding and marketing through Kaiser Design and Marketing, a creative firm specializing in brand strategy, design, and marketing communications. The firm works with clients across sectors including wine, hospitality, and lifestyle brands.[4]
Kaiser collaborates on the business with her brother, contributing strategic oversight and marketing expertise to the company’s projects.[4]
Public Speaking and Education
Kaiser has participated in professional conferences and industry events related to wine tourism and marketing. She has appeared as a speaker at the International Wine Tourism Conference (IWINETC), where industry experts discuss global trends in wine tourism and destination marketing.[5]
Kaiser has also contributed to education within the Niagara wine industry. She previously taught courses in the wine business management program at Niagara College.[2] She has also participated in professional development and networking events organized through the college’s communications and public relations programs.[6]
Public Service and Politics
Kaiser has served as a municipal councillor in Niagara-on-the-Lake, where she was elected to three consecutive terms.[3] During her tenure, she focused on economic development, tourism, and community engagement.[3]
In 2021, Kaiser ran as the Liberal Party of Canada candidate for the federal riding of Niagara-on-the-Lake.[3] Her campaign emphasized local economic growth, support for small businesses, and community development.[3] [7]
