History
Balani Custom Clothiers was founded in Chicago in 1961 by Peter Balani.[2]
In 2003, Peter Balani's son, Sonny Balani, joined the company as chief executive officer.[2] Sonny Balani, who had previously worked as a senior equities trader at William Blair & Company,[3] shifted the company from a trunk show model to a brick-and-mortar approach.[4] Beginning in 2013, the company expanded outside Chicago, opening showrooms in Houston, and later in over a dozen additional U.S. cities.[5][2][6]
