Career

Saywitz began his real estate career in Newport Beach in 1989, during a downturn in Orange County's commercial property market and later became a partner at Howard Ecker & Company.[6][7]

In 1994, he acquired the firm’s West Coast operations and rebranded it as The Saywitz Company.[8][9] In 1996, he established The Core Network,[8][10][11] which includes over 80 firms across North America and handles nearly $60 billion in annual commercial real estate transactions.[1]

In the mid-1990s, Saywitz diversified into property investment and management by founding Saywitz Properties.[12][13] The company manages over 100 properties in Southern California and is one of the region’s largest privately owned multi-family operators.[14]

In 2023, The Saywitz Company negotiated a major lease for Russell Sigler Inc.'s new 40,000-square-foot regional distribution center in Temecula, California.[15]

In October 2021, Saywitz launched Let’s Talk Real Estate with Barry Saywitz, a podcast and radio show broadcast live on the OC Talk Radio Network. The program features conversations with political leaders, business professionals, real estate experts, and economists.[16]

Philanthropy

He is actively involved in philanthropy and founded the “Evening for Autism” fundraiser[17][18] after his own son was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2.[19] The fundraiser supports organizations such as the Autism Society of America, Easter Seals of Southern California[20], and ACT Today.[21][22]
