Botrus Mansour (born October 6, 1965) is a Palestinian Christian ordained minister, lawyer, educator, and writer from Nazareth, Israel. He serves as the Secretary General of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), an international evangelical organization.[1]

Early life and education
Botrus Mansour was born in Nazareth, Israel, to Atallah and Evelyn Mansour.[2] His father, Atallah Mansour, was the first Palestinian journalist to work for a Hebrew-language newspaper in Israel, while his mother, Evelyn Ghrayeb Mansour, was the first girl in her village of Cana of Galilee to complete secondary education.
Mansour received his early education in Jerusalem and later studied in Oxford, England. He graduated from the Nazareth Baptist School in 1983.
He studied law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and was admitted to the Israeli Bar in October 1993. He later earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA), specializing in nonprofit management, from the University of Haifa in 2009, and a certificate in teaching civics from the Open University of Israel in 2018.
From 1993 to 2003, Mansour practiced law in Haifa and Nazareth, focusing on tort law, labor law, and nonprofit organization management.
Nazareth Baptist School
Mansour joined the Board of Trustees of the Nazareth Baptist School in 1993.[3]
In 2003, he became General Director of the school (later titled Operational Director in 2020), serving until October 2025. During his tenure, he contributed to the school's academic development and international partnerships.
He played a role in establishing support structures abroad, including the Nazareth Educational Ministries Association (NEMA), operating as "Friends of Nazareth" in the United States.[4][5]
Mansour was also involved in transferring ownership of the school facilities from the Baptist Mission to a local nonprofit association.[6]
He developed relationships with international universities and strengthened alumni and community engagement.[7]
Secretary General of the World Evangelical Alliance
Christian ministry and leadership
Mansour has been active in evangelical ministry since his university years. In 1990, he served as chairman of the student committee of the Fellowship of Christian Students in Israel.
In 1995, he co-founded a Baptist church in Nazareth and served in leadership roles, including as an ordained elder from 2001. In October 2025, he was ordained as a minister in connection with his appointment to the WEA.
He was involved in the founding of Nazareth Village in 1996, a historical and cultural site depicting first-century life.[10]
Mansour served on the global council of Advocates International from 2011 to 2014.[11] He also served with Musalaha, a reconciliation organization, from 2007 to 2022.[12]
From 2014 to 2019, he co-chaired the Lausanne Initiative for Israeli-Palestinian Reconciliation and contributed to the Larnaca Statement.[13]
He participated in advocacy efforts related to Christian schools in Israel, including during the 2015 school strike.[14]
In 2018, Mansour was elected Chairman of the Convention of Evangelical Churches in Israel, serving until 2024.[15]
In 2022, he was elected Chairman of the Alliance of Evangelical Churches in Jordan and the Holy Land.[16]

Mansour writes in Arabic, English, and Hebrew. His articles have appeared in publications such as Christianity Today and Haaretz, as well as on the "Come and See" platform.[17]

Other activities
Mansour has delivered lectures internationally on topics related to Arab Christians, theology, and society, including in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, India, Egypt, and other countries.
In 2019, he co-founded the Cana Wedding Chapel, a center for renewing marriage vows in Cana of Galilee.[19]
Personal life
Mansour is married to Abir Oudeh, an educational counselor. They have three children and one grandchild. The family resides in Nazareth, Israel.
