Biography
Boyana Cholakova was born in Pazardzhik. She graduated from the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts "Prof. Asen Diamandiev", Plovdiv.
Career
Since 2024, Cholakova has worked as a music teacher at Georgi Bregov Secondary School, Pazardzhik.
She has participated in the activities of the youth folklore ensemble "Elica" and the Ensemble "Pazardzhik".
Cholakova is a chorister in the choir "The Great Bulgarian Voices" under the direction of Iliya Mihaylov. As part of the choir, she has participated in international events, including the Détours de Babel festival in Grenoble, France in March 2023, and has contributed to silent film soundtracks such as La belle nivernaise.
She has performed with the representative mandolin orchestra "Maestro Georgi Atanasov," conducted by Atanas Cholakov.
Cholakova is also a soloist with the orchestra "Palitra," performing in concerts and folklore events in Bulgaria, including stages such as Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture and the Konstantin Velichkov Drama and Puppet Theatre in Pazardzhik.
Musical projects
Cholakova contributed to the album Yana, a collaborative project of the choir "The Great Bulgarian Voices" and musician Yavor Rusinov.[1]
She has appeared in Bulgarian television music programs, including "Ide Nashenskata Muzika" on BNT with Ensemble "Pazardzhik".
Public performances
Throughout her career, Cholakova has performed in concerts, festivals, and cultural events both in Bulgaria and abroad, as well as in educational and artistic initiatives with students.
