Early life and jiu-jitsu

Dias is from Apucarana, Paraná, Brazil. In a 2025 interview with Graciemag, he said his first encounter with jiu-jitsu came through a friend after church, recalling: "A friend, after the service, started talking about this thing called jiu-jitsu... the next day, we were there to see what it was all about." He trained jiu-jitsu and judo, began teaching as a purple belt in 2008, and received his black belt in 2012 under Professor Marco Barbosa of Barbosa Jiu-Jitsu.[4] He also holds a brown belt in judo and a Muay Thai record of 5–1.[5] He has said his nickname was inspired by fellow Brazilian fighter Ronaldo "Jacaré" Souza.[4]

Brazilian outlet O Dia reported that he won a South American IBJJF title early in his career.[6] IBJJF records confirm his participation at the 2007 South American Jiu-Jitsu IBJJF Championship as a blue belt representing Gracie Barra PR.[7]

Mixed martial arts career

Dias made his professional MMA debut in March 2006, winning by submission. His professional record is listed by Sherdog, Tapology, and other databases as 19 wins (14 by submission, 4 by knockout, 1 by decision), 12 losses, and 1 no contest.[1][8]

The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil

In 2013, Dias was listed by Graciemag among the 28 competitors selected for the second Brazilian season of The Ultimate Fighter, with a record of 11–3–1 at age 26, representing Bragança Paulista, São Paulo.[2] He faced Cleiton "Foguete" Duarte in an elimination bout, losing by split decision.[9]

Absolute Championship Berkut

In 2015 and 2016, Dias competed internationally for Absolute Championship Berkut (ACB), a Russian MMA promotion. He lost to Magomed Magomedov by unanimous decision at ACB 24 in Moscow in October 2015,[10][1] and to Magomed Ginazov by unanimous decision at ACB 40 in Krasnodar in June 2016.[1]

CES MMA and United States career

In 2017, Dias fought Pedro Gonzalez in the main event of CES MMA 43, losing by submission (guillotine choke) in the second round.[11] In the United States, Dias also competed for Cage Titans Fighting Championships in Massachusetts.[1]

Coaching career

Graciemag reported that Dias moved to the United States in 2017 and opened Kaizen Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Norwell, Massachusetts, in 2023.[12] At Kaizen, he serves as Director of Martial Arts and leads children's, adults', and Muay Thai classes.[5] In the same Graciemag interview, Dias described teaching children, adults over 50, and children with autism and ADHD after moving to the United States.[4]

In 2025, official Graciemag Instagram accounts repeatedly described Dias as the publication's GMI (Gracie Magazine Instructor) in Boston, a designation in Graciemag's promotional program for jiu-jitsu instructors.[13][14][15][16]

Brazilian jiu-jitsu competition record

Dias has competed extensively in IBJJF tournaments at black belt level since at least 2017. According to BJJ Metrics and IBJJF records, his competition results at black belt include multiple gold medals across numerous IBJJF International Open events.[17]
