Caleb Teicher (born July 27, 1993) is an American dancer, choreographer, director, curator, and teacher. Known for dance-and-live-music productions with roots in Tap Dance, Lindy Hop, and Vernacular Jazz Dance, many of their stage shows (SW!NG OUT, A Very SW!NG OUT Holiday, Counterpoint with Conrad Tao, and Bzzz) are regularly presented at performing arts centers in the United States.[1][2][3]

Career
Teicher began their professional performing career as a founding member of Michelle Dorrance's tap dance company, Dorrance Dance.[4] At 18 years old, they received a 2011 Bessie Award for Outstanding Individual Performance for their performance in Dormeshia & Michelle Dorrance's "A Shared Evening" at Danspace Project.[5] That same year, they were named to Dance Magazine's "25 to Watch" list.[6]
From 2016-2021, they choreographed concert dance work under the banner of "Caleb Teicher & Company" and performed at many performing arts venues/organizations including:
- Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival[7]
- Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts[8]
- Guggenheim New York[9]
- Guggenheim Bilbao
- New York City Center[10]
- The Joyce Theater[11]
- Spoleto Festival[12]
- Cal Performances[13]
In 2018, Teicher collaborated with the National Symphony Orchestra for two performance at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, presented as part of Ben Folds' DECLASSIFIED series.[14] Subsequent work with Ben Folds followed, including 'Tis The Night with Ben Folds & Friends as well as recording tap dance for Folds' "Mister Peepers" release.[15][16]
In June 2019, Teicher collaborated with Regina Spektor to choreograph Spektor's Broadway residency and subsequently contributed tap dancing to "Spacetime Fairytale" on her album, Home, Before and After.[17][18]
In October 2021, Teicher premiered the Lindy Hop and Jazz show, "SW!NG OUT" at The Joyce Theater in NYC. The show has continued to tour North America and return to The Joyce Theater for subsequent productions, including a holiday version entitled "A Very SW!NG OUT Holiday."[19]
In November 2023, Conrad Tao and Caleb Teicher's duo collaboration, "Counterpoint", was featured on NPR's Tiny Desk Concert series, marking the first Tiny Desk concert to feature tap dance.[20]
In April 2025, Caleb Teicher served as inaugural co-curator of Uptown Rhythm Dance Festival at the 92NY.[21] Later that year, they curated K-Swing Wave for Lincoln Center, Korean Cultural Center New York, 92NY, and Steps on Broadway.[22]

Teicher is non-binary and uses singular they/them pronouns.[12]
