Can Evrenol (born 1982) is a Turkish film director, screenwriter, and producer. He is best known for his 2015 debut feature horror film, Baskin, which gained international recognition after its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and was acquired for U.S. distribution by IFC Midnight.[1]

Early life and education
Evrenol was born in Istanbul. After graduating from Üsküdar American Academy, he moved to the United Kingdom, where he earned a bachelor's degree in film studies and art history from the University of Kent.[2]
Career
Feature films
Evrenol's directorial debut, Baskin (2015), based on his 2013 short film of the same name, received critical acclaim for its atmosphere and visual style in the horror genre.[3] Following the success of Baskin, he directed his second feature, Housewife, in 2017.
In 2019, he released Girl with No Mouth (Turkish: Peri: Ağzı Olmayan Kız), a post-apocalyptic adventure film. His 2024 project, Sayara, a revenge thriller, was featured in the official lineup of the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival.[4]
Digital platforms
In 2018, Evrenol served as a director for the first season of Netflix's first Turkish original series, The Protector. He later directed the series Naked (Turkish: Çıplak) for the Turkish streaming platform BluTV in 2020.
