Son Seong-jun (Korean: 손성준; born May 31, 1999), also known professionally as Castle J (캐슬제이), is a South Korean singer-songwriter, rapper and actor. He is known as the one of the five members and the leader of South Korean boy band MCND, formed in 2020 by TOP Media.[1]

Career
Early life
Castle J was born on May 31, 1999 in Seoul, South Korea. His family consists of him and his parents. As a child, he moved to Anyang with his parents. He began attending an elementary school in Anyang at a young age. At the age of 12, he began his acting career, appearing on the film Original Fairy Tale. In 2013, at the age of 14, he starred in the film The Queen's Classroom.
At the age of 16 in 2015, he joined TOP Media along with members Minjae and Huijun. In 2016, he, Bic, Minjae and Huijun traveled in the United States to learn dancing.[2]
2019–2020: Debut with MCND
In December 2019, Castle J appeared in the performance video for MCND's pre-debut song "Top Gang", which was released on January 2, 2020.[3] The group officially debuted with the extended play (EP) Into the Ice Age.[4] Castle J was credited as a songwriter, composer and producer on the track "Top Gang" and only as a songwriter on the title track "Ice Age".[5] On April 9, 2020, the group released the single "Spring", where he was credited as a songwriter for the song.[6] On August 20, 2020, the group returned with the second extended play (EP) Earth Age, where he was credited as a songwriter, composer and a producer on the tracks "Intro: Earth Age" and "Outro; Kepler1649c" and only as a songwriter for the tracks "Nanana", "Breathe", "Galaxy" and "Bumpin'", he also co-wrote the track "Beautiful" along with members Huijun and Win.[7]
2021–present: Show Me the Money 10 participation and SoundCloud releases
In October 2021, he and member Win participated in the Mnet reality show Show Me the Money 10. Unfortunately, he and Win were eliminated in the second round, which was the 60 second beat rap.
On May 31, 2022, Castle J released his first single on SoundCloud called "初年生".[8]
