Background

Composition

Speaking on the repetitive nature of the song's instrumental, Cunningham stated: "Listening to loops made me successful. Repetition is important, you hear something new each time."[2]

Release

"Censori Overload" was released on the night of December 7, 2022.[3] It was exclusively released onto two platforms: Instagram and the Infowars website. West's post on the former came with the caption "Censori overload. The variable epitope library from the antigen promotes an immune response in the body".[4] The intentional misspelling of the phrase "sensory overload" is in reference his wife Bianca Censori.[1]

Reception

Andre Gee of Rolling Stone described the song's lyrics as "a double-down on the conservative, antisemetic [sic] rhetoric Ye's been expressing in recent months". He felt that West had tired the public with his opinions, as his "knack for stirring soul samples and baring his honesty hasn't gone anywhere, but many people's tolerance to hear it is long gone."[4]
