Several French business outlets have described the company as positioning itself as a sovereign European alternative to Palantir Technologies in certain segments of complex data analysis.[1][2] This positioning is reflected in particular by its shortlisting, in 2023, for the OTDH project (Outil de traitement des données hétérogènes, or Heterogeneous Data Processing Tool) run by the DGSI (Direction générale de la Sécurité intérieure, France's domestic intelligence agency), which aims to eventually replace Palantir, brought in following the 2015 Paris attacks.[3] Challenges described the contract as "the deal of the decade".[4]

Revenue reached €100 million in 2022[5], €157 million in 2023, €200 million in 2023[6]

History

Founding and early acquisitions (2019–2021)

ChapsVision was founded in November 2019 by Olivier Dellenbach.[5] Its growth has been built on a strong acquisition strategy targeting software publishers in data analytics, cybersecurity, and digital investigation technologies. The group built out its Enterprise division by acquiring Coheris (CRM), Octipas (unified commerce), NP6 (marketing automation), and Bertin IT (open-source intelligence).[5]

Cybersecurity division and €100M fundraise (2022)

ChapsVision organised its cybersecurity arm under the name Flandrin Technologies and acquired Elektron, which had taken over the French operations of Nexa Technologies (formerly Amesys),[7] as well as Deveryware, a provider of lawful interception tools for French law enforcement.[5] In September 2022, the company closed a fundraising round of over €100 million with Bpifrance and Tikehau Capital, bringing its headcount to over 500.[5]

Second fundraise of €90M (2023)

In September 2023, Qualium Investissement led a €90 million round alongside Geneo Capital, Tikehau, and Bpifrance.[8] The group had 742 employees at the time and was targeting €180 million in revenue for 2023.[8] That same year, ChapsVision was shortlisted for the DGSI's OTDH project.[3]

Sinequa acquisition and third fundraise of €85M (2024)

In November 2024, ChapsVision acquired Sinequa, an AI-powered enterprise search engine, while simultaneously closing an additional €85 million, with Jolt Capital joining as a new investor.[9][10] The group then reported nearly 1,000 employees and over 2,000 large enterprise clients.

Further acquisitions (2024–2025)

The group continued expanding through additional acquisitions: Systran (machine translation, January 2024),[11] AnyCommerce (March 2024), Corexalys OSINT Business (May 2024), Articque (geodecision mapping, June 2024), and Iremos (crisis management, March 2025).[12]

Appointment of a General Manager (2025)

In November 2025, Silvano Sansoni was appointed General Manager, tasked with structuring the group. Olivier Dellenbach retained the role of Chairman.[13]

Founder: Olivier Dellenbach

Olivier Dellenbach was born in Strasbourg on 17 February 1961, and graduated from the École Polytechnique (class of 1981).[14] In 1987, he founded Nat System, a software publisher for IBM PCs working as a Microsoft subcontractor, which was sold in 1998 to the Canadian firm Cognicase.[14] In 1999, together with Alexandre Bilger, he co-founded eFront, which grew into the world leader in private equity investment tracking, with 850 employees and 800 clients across 30 countries. The company was sold to BlackRock in March 2019 for $1.3 billion.[14][15]

From May 2019 onward, he began investing through ChapsHolding and formally established ChapsVision in November 2019.[16]

On 11 July 2025, he was appointed a Knight of the Legion of Honour by presidential decree, in recognition of his role as "founder and CEO of a data analytics software publisher; 41 years of service."[17]

Social dimension: the HappyCap Foundation

The HappyCap Foundation, co-founded by Olivier and Béatrice Dellenbach, is the reference shareholder of ChapsHolding. Its stated goal is to dedicate a share of the group's earnings to supporting people with intellectual disabilities and their families.[18] In 2024, ChapsVision was awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal, which recognises the top 5% of companies for sustainability management.
