The 12-story, 230-foot (70 m) office building was subject to accolades upon its completion in 2013, including a LEED Platinum certification.

History

The Charles Schwab Building started construction in July 2010. TD Ameritrade, the original tenants of the building, intended the structure be built with environmental sustainability in mind.[3][4]

The US$135 million complex opened in July 2013, and was issued LEED Platinum certification in May 2014.[5]

Design

At 230 feet (70 m) in height, the Charles Schwab Building is one of the tallest buildings in West Omaha. The tower is a prominent sight from both Interstate 680 and the West Dodge Expressway, which intersect less than one mile (1.6 km) northeast of the Charles Schwab Building.

Design features that contributed to the building receiving a LEED Platinum certification include the use of recycled building materials, rainwater harvesting, and a pavilion roof with vegetation and meeting spaces.[4]
