Playing career and education
Ducar attended the University of Missouri, where he played club soccer as a goalkeeper and graduated in 1990.
Following his collegiate career, he played professionally as a goalkeeper with the San Francisco Bay Blackhawks of the American Professional Soccer League, and was a member of the team's 1991 championship-winning squad.[1]
He later played for the San Jose Oaks from 1992 to 1995, and was part of the team that won the 1992 U.S. Open Cup.[2]
Ducar earned a teaching credential from San Jose State University in 1995.
Coaching career
Ducar began his coaching career in 1990 as an assistant coach at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He later held coaching positions at Greensboro College and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro before joining the University of North Carolina women's soccer staff in 1996 as an assistant coach under head coach Anson Dorrance.[3]
At North Carolina, Ducar has worked primarily with goalkeepers and has also held responsibilities related to recruiting. He has been part of the program during a period of sustained competitive success.
His involvement in recruiting has been referenced by TopDrawerSoccer, which described him as a "recruiting wizard" in the context of assembling highly ranked recruiting classes.[4]
