Athletics career
In December 2024, Cain broke the Isle of Man women's marathon record at the Valencia Marathon, recording a time of 2:39:10 and surpassing a mark that had stood for 31 years.[2]
In April 2025, she improved the record at the 2025 London Marathon with a time of 2:37:25, placing ninth female overall in the open race.[3]
Later in 2025, Cain lowered the Isle of Man women's marathon record again at the Chicago Marathon, finishing in a personal best of 2:35:31. The same report described her as the first British finisher in the race.[4]
In September 2025, Cain set a personal best of 1:12:34 at the Copenhagen Half Marathon and set an Isle of Man age-group record.[5]
Island Games
Cain represented the Isle of Man at the 2025 Island Games in Orkney, winning three individual gold medals: the women's 5,000 metres, 10,000 metres, and half marathon. She also won a bronze medal as part of the Isle of Man women's half-marathon team.[6]
Awards
Cain was named Isle of Man Veteran Sportsperson of the Year (2024) at the Isle of Man Sports Awards.[7]
