Christopher Rinn is an American healthcare executive and public official who serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Visiting Nurse Association Health Group, a nonprofit provider of home health, hospice, and community-based care. He previously served as Acting Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Health in 2017.

Early life and education
Rinn earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science from Columbia University and later received a Master of Health Administration from Seton Hall University. He also completed executive training through the Harvard Kennedy School's National Preparedness Leadership Initiative.[1]
Career
Early career
Rinn began his career in emergency medical services and healthcare administration. He later served as Executive Director of EMS and Governmental Affairs at Jersey City Medical Center.[2]
New Jersey Department of Health
Rinn joined the New Jersey Department of Health in 2010 as Assistant Commissioner, where he held responsibilities across public health operations, laboratory services, and emergency preparedness.[3]
In 2017, he was appointed Acting Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Health by Governor Chris Christie.[4] During his tenure, he oversaw public health programs and regulatory functions and led the department during a period of organizational restructuring, including integration of mental health and addiction services.[5][6] He also oversaw public health responses and healthcare facility oversight.[7]
Community health leadership
Rinn later served as Chief Executive Officer of VNACJ Community Health Center, where he led expansion efforts in Monmouth County, New Jersey.[8][9]
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization participated in vaccination efforts and community health initiatives, including mobile vaccination programs.[10][11]
The organization also received a federal grant to support the recruitment and training of primary care physicians in underserved communities.[12]
VNA Health Group
In 2023, Rinn was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Visiting Nurse Association Health Group.[13][14]
In this role, he has focused on expanding home-based care services and addressing policy issues affecting healthcare access and Medicare reimbursement.[15]
