Cláudio Antônio Klaus Júnior, known professionally as Claudio Klaus, is a Brazilian-trained lawyer, researcher, and podcaster based in Canada. He is known for his work on international legal careers, global legal education, and cross-border professional development, and for hosting the podcast Studying Law Around the World.[1]
Early life and education
Klaus completed a law degree in Brazil before pursuing graduate legal studies. He attended the Global Professional Master of Laws program at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. During his studies, he participated in research activities and academic programs that connected him with international legal education communities.[2][3]
Career
Podcast
Klaus is the founder and host of the podcast Studying Law Around the World. The series features interviews with lawyers, law students, and academics about legal education, licensing systems, and career paths in different countries. The podcast has been active for multiple years and includes conversations with professionals from a range of jurisdictions. Selected episodes have been accredited for continuing legal education by Canadian law societies.[1]
Speaking and academic roles
In 2025, Klaus was listed as a speaker at Internationally Trained Lawyers Day at Osgoode Hall Law School. The event featured sessions on professional development and licensing for internationally trained lawyers.[4]
Klaus has academic work published in Forced Migration Review, a peer-reviewed journal associated with forced displacement and humanitarian response. Issue 74 of the publication includes his article on financing responses to the Venezuelan displaced population.[5]
His research on sanitation infrastructure and public health was featured in Ascend Magazine, connected to Osgoode Hall Law School, comparing legal and human rights frameworks in Ontario and Brazil.[6]
