Athletics career
Onyali's career peak occurred at the 2010 African Championships in Athletics in Nairobi.[3] In the women's long jump final, she cleared 6.42 metres to secure the silver medal, finishing as runner-up to her teammate Blessing Okagbare.[4]
Later that year, she represented Nigeria at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. Her appearance there was marked by a health scare during the qualifying rounds of the long jump, Onyali collapsed on the field due to heat exhaustion and had to be evacuated by medical staff. Despite this, she remained a consistent fixture in Nigerian field events for several seasons.[5]
