Gameplay
The player takes on the role of an organizer of football events in selected host cities. The main objective is to prepare the urban area for the arrival of tens of thousands of fans. The game's mechanics revolve around traffic management, route planning, setting up fan zones, and ensuring security and adequate logistical support before the referee's first whistle.[3] The game features licenses from real-world football clubs; one of the officially announced partners of the project is the Turkish team Beşiktaş.[4] In addition, the game includes several other fully licensed clubs such as Arsenal,[5] Bayern Munich,[6] Borussia Dortmund,[7] Olympique de Marseille,[8] and Flamengo.[9] Furthermore, players can organize events in authentically recreated venues, such as PGE Narodowy in Warsaw[10] in Warsaw and the Olympiastadion in Berlin - one more stadium and city is waiting to be revealed.
Development
Copa City is being developed by the Polish studio Triple Espresso. According to the studio's co-founder, Dominik Ebebenge, the creators' goal was to fill a niche in the market by creating a "football tycoon" game that, instead of focusing on athletic results, captures the atmosphere, business aspects, and operational challenges associated with major football festivals.[11]
