Irish activist organisation From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Cork Palestine Solidarity Campaign (CPSC) is a Cork-based Irish activist organisation that advocates for an end to the settler-colonialism, apartheid and illegal occupation of Palestine. Formed in 2002, it is a branch of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign.[1] Since October 2023, the CPSC has organised weekly protests against the Gaza genocide.[2]

  • Comment: Unclear how WP:NORG (and in particular WP:NGO) is met. Local non-profit orgs typically require significant coverage in "reliable independent sources outside the organization's local area" to establish independent notability. All the sources below are local/regional. As the subject org (branch?) is, per its own website, "a branch of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign", it is unclear how this local branch has notability independent of the parent org? Could the below (the activities of the Cork branch and the sources which support it) not be covered/included WP:WITHIN the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign article? Activities

As of 2013, the CPSC's campaigns focused primarily on Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions, holding stalls and carrying out demonstrations and actions.[3][failed verification] CPSC has organised rallies and protests, over several years, to demonstrate solidarity with the Palestinian people.[4][5]

After the 2023 Israeli ground invasion of Gaza, CPSC began to organise regular protests in support of the Palestinian people. [6] Notable speakers and contributors at these protests have included: then candidate and later President of Ireland, Catherine Connolly,[7] Irish singer-songwriter John Spillane,[8] Nigerian-British photographer and activist Misan Harriman,[9] British surgeon Nick Maynard, who has volunteered in Gaza,[10] and American musician Carsie Blanton. [11]

The campaign has also organised 24- and 72-hour fasts in solidarity with Gazans.[12]
