Premise
Count My Lies follows compulsive liar Sloane Caraway, who lies her way into a nanny job with wealthy couple Violet and Jay Lockhart. Once inside their home, she becomes entangled in a series of dangerous secrets that threaten everyone involved.[1]

Production
Development
On April 16, 2025, Count My Lies was announced to be in development at Hulu. It is based on the 2025 novel of the same name by Sophie Stava. The series is created by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger who expected to executive produce alongside Lindsay Lohan and Scott Morgan, with Stava set to serve as a producer. Production companies involved producing the series are The Walk-Up Company and 20th Television.[2] On August 13, 2025, Hulu gave production a series order for Count My Lies. Aptaker and Berger are also serving as showrunners.[3]
Casting
Upon the series development announcement, Lohan was also cast to star.[2] When it was ordered to series, Shailene Woodley joined the cast in a starring as well as executive producing role.[3] On December 4, 2025, Kit Harington was cast in a starring role.[4] The series marks Lohan's first starring role in a television series, with the actress drawn to the role of Violet as a departure from her previous comedic work, describing the character as someone "you can't really figure out."[5][6] Harington characterized the series as a "domestic thriller" featuring "all kinds of quite appalling people."[7]
Filming
Principal photography for Count My Lies is scheduled to take place in New York from March to July 2026.[6][8][9]
