Cubex Centre Prague is a multifunctional conference and event centre in Prague, located in the Trimaran building at Na Strži 2097/63, Prague 4 - Pankrác.[1] It is used for conferences, congresses, corporate events, exhibitions, gala evenings and other social events. The venue is situated near the Pankrác metro station on line C, within a commercial and administrative area of the city.

The centre comprises eight halls and meeting rooms. Its total capacity can reach up to 1,200 people depending on the layout, while the main hall accommodates up to 1,000 participants in a theatre setup. The main hall can be divided into three separate sections using movable soundproof partitions, allowing parallel programme sessions.[2] The centre has a modular layout, state-of-the-art technological infrastructure, a cubism-inspired interior and an emphasis on environmental sustainability.[3]

Cubex Centre Prague is used for a range of events, including conferences, summits, corporate meetings, product launches, gala evenings, exhibitions, hackathons and other cultural or social events. The modular layout of the main hall enables both large-scale events and simultaneous smaller sessions.[2]

In addition to the main hall, the venue includes smaller halls and meeting rooms, foyers and bar areas. It also provides facilities for registration, catering and accompanying programmes. The layout allows for a combination of conference, exhibition and social functions within a single event.[4]

Technology

The centre is equipped with audiovisual and digital infrastructure for conferences and hybrid events. Its technological facilities include large-scale projection, an LED Wall in the main hall, a projection Media Wall[6], LCD screens and a navigation system in public areas. Additional technologies used for certain events include projection mapping, simultaneous interpretation and digital moderation systems.[7] One of the technical features is a programmable lighting system referred to as the “Chameleon Concept”, consisting of LED strips integrated into the ceiling structure of the main hall and other spaces, allowing the interior lighting colour to be adapted to the nature of the event. Cubex is also equipped with a fibre-optic network with a capacity of up to 10 Gbps and Wi-Fi 6 coverage, supporting data-intensive presentations, streaming and hybrid formats.[7]

Sustainability

Cubex Centre Prague is located in the Trimaran building [1], which has received LEED Platinum[3] certification for environmental performance and energy efficiency.

Various sustainability measures are implemented in the operation of the centre. These include the use of electricity from renewable sources, connection to a district heating system, intelligent control of lighting and air conditioning, rainwater utilisation for sanitary and landscaping purposes and waste separation systems. The interior also includes furniture with Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification. Operational measures include the reduction of single-use materials and the digitalisation of selected processes and navigation.[8]

The venue has received the Responsible Company (Zodpovědná firma)[9] certification and hosts events focused on sustainability, including the Sustainability Summit.[10]

Sustainability measures include:

  • use of 100% electricity from renewable energy sources supplied by certified providers
  • low-emission heating via connection to the district heating network
  • energy-efficient building design, including façade elements reducing energy consumption
  • intelligent LED lighting with motion sensors and daylight-responsive controls
  • rainwater utilisation, including systems for flushing and sanitary and landscaping use[11]

Prague Event Hub

Cubex Centre Prague is part of a concept connecting several nearby venues in the Pankrác area, including Conference Centre City, Panorama by Verdi Hotels, and the Arkády Pankrác shopping centre.[12]

This connection allows for the organisation of large-scale conferences and events with a total capacity of up to 2,112 participants (theatre setup). The largest hall accommodates up to 1,000 people (theatre), and a total of 20 halls are available. The facilities also include exhibition space of approximately 2,152 m².[2]

The infrastructure also includes accommodation capacity of 441 hotel rooms in the adjacent Panorama by Verdi Hotels, as well as a wide range of services in the surrounding area, including more than 165 shops and restaurants within the Arkády Pankrác shopping centre.[2]

Awards and certifications

Cubex Centre Prague received an award at the international Eventex Awards in 2019, during the 9th edition of the competition, in the category of Best New Event Venue. The award recognised the centre’s architectural design, spatial flexibility and technological facilities, which allow the venue to accommodate a wide range of event formats, from smaller workshops to large-scale conferences and international summits.[13][14]

The centre also received the title of Best Small Convention Centre (up to 1,000 people) at the Meetings Star Awards 2025/2026. In the final evaluation by an international jury, it ranked first in the category of small convention centres, with a score of 4.97 out of 5.[15]

The Trimaran building, in which Cubex Centre Prague is located, holds LEED Platinum[8] certification. Additional certifications associated with the venue include Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification for furniture and the Responsible Company (Zodpovědná firma) certification.[16]

Architecture and interior

The interior design of the venue is inspired by Czech Cubism. This influence is reflected in the design of walls, ceilings, bars and other interior elements, characterised by geometric and angular forms.[3] The layout was designed with an emphasis on flexibility. Individual areas of the venue can be adapted for different types of events, ranging from large conferences and summits to parallel programme sessions, smaller business meetings and social events.[5]

The venue is equipped with a freight lift measuring 2.2 × 2.05 × 5.8 m, with a load capacity of 4.5 tonnes, enabling the transport of vehicles, large exhibits, installations and technical equipment.[17]

Cubex Centre Prague is located near the Pankrác metro station on line C. The area is also accessible by tram and bus services.

Road transport

Due to its location near the main arterial roads, the city ring road and the D1 motorway, the venue is easily accessible by car.

Parking

Parking for visitors is available in nearby facilities, particularly in the Arkády Pankrác shopping centre and the Panorama Parking House.[18]

Access to key locations in the city

Due to its location within a business district, the venue is easily accessible from the historic city centre, the main railway station and Václav Havel Airport Prague.

History

Cubex Centre Prague was developed as part of the Trimaran administrative building in the Pankrác district of Prague. The idea of establishing a conference and event centre at this location emerged around 2016.[19]

Preparatory work, including architectural design selection and planning of technological infrastructure, followed. Several architectural studios participated in the design process, and the final design was selected in 2017 from 4A Architekti, who designed the interior.[3]

The Trimaran building was constructed between 2012 and 2018. The project was developed by Harro Development Praha s.r.o. and designed by the Austrian company S+B Gruppe AG.[20]

Cubex Centre Prague officially opened in June 2018.[19]
