Gardner has been a longtime contributor to The Truth Podcast, which Vulture named one of "The 10 Essential Fiction Podcasts That Shaped the Genre." He created the episodes Museum of You and the three-part series Pariah, which earned him a nomination for Best Fiction Scriptwriting at the Podcast Academy Awards (the Ambies).[2][3]
In 2021, Tribeca Festival created an official selection program for podcasts, marking one of the earliest efforts by a major film festival to formally include audio storytelling alongside film. Gardner leads this initiative as Head of Podcasts and Audio Storytelling at Tribeca Enterprises.[4]
As part of his role at Tribeca, Gardner has expanded the festival's programming to include official podcast selections, world premieres, and live audio events. Journalists have described Tribeca's embrace of podcasting as a significant development in how major film festivals engage with audio storytelling.[5][6]
Under Gardner's leadership, Tribeca Audio has presented world premieres of narrative, documentary, and experimental audio projects, as well as live recordings and conversations with creators during the festival.[7]
Gardner is an Executive Member of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.[8]
He is also a founding committee member of the Writers Guild of America Audio Alliance, an initiative focused on organizing and representing audio writers.[9]
