Draft:Declaration of Animal Rights

Declaration of Animal Rights From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Declaration of Animal Rights was created in 2011[1] by the US animal rights group Our Planet. Theirs Too.,[2][3] as a vegan and abolitionist replacement for older declarations on the rights and welfare of animals that fell short in that regard, such as the Universal Declaration of Animal Rights from 1978[4][5], and the Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare from 2000.[6][7] It was written by Aylam Orian[8][9], edited by Orian and Zelda Penzel, and proclaimed publicly for the first time on Sunday June 5th, 2011, at the first National Animal Rights Day event in New York City.[10][11]
