Devon Francis (born August 23 1999), professionally known as Devstacks, is an American rapper, producer and songwriter from Springfield Massachusetts. He is known for blending melodic trap and underground hip-hop with melodic instrumentals.


Early Life

Francis grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts. He attended Roger L Putnam Vocational-Technical High School where he played volleyball. After high school he played volleyball at Lasell University as an outside hitter. He is 5-9 and weighs 150 pounds. At Lasell he studied Fashion Communications.[1]

He started experimenting with beatmaking and rapping at a young age drawing inspiration from other rappers such as Chief Keef and Pi'erre Bourne.[2] Music quickly became important to him and he began sharing his work online. Over time he built a loyal following in the underground scene. [3]

Career

Francis began his career as a producer making beats for underground artists such as Summrs and Autumn!. Later he started rapping over his own instrumentals creating a style that combines melodic hooks with hard-hitting trap rhythms.

He gained wider attention with projects like Now They Know Us and Scriptures which helped him build a dedicated fanbase.[4] Singles such as Where Yo Swag, Parlay and Wtf U Tryna Say? attracted significant attention on TikTok. These tracks introduced his music to a broader audience.[5][6]

Devstacks has also worked with underground artists like Swapa, Bktherula and Babyxsosa.[7] Francis has also worked with artists such as Kevin Abstract, Lil Nas X, Lil Tecca and Lil Uzi Vert.[8] [9]These collaborations helped him develop a sound that blends his production with each artist’s style. In his single Want Sum More, Francis sampled an unreleased song by Playboi Carti.
