Dmitrii Zenkov (born 20 December 1987, Alapayevsk, Sverdlovsk Oblast) is a Russian interdisciplinary theatre and video-art director, paramedic, and researcher of psychophysiology of art.

Zenkov graduated from the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS), where he studied directing in the workshop of Iosif Raikhelgauz. His work combines theatre, performance, and digital media, with a focus on actor training and interdisciplinary practices.

He has worked in Russia and Serbia, directing theatre productions and participating in international performance projects. Among his works are the stage productions Lost (2025), Penguins. Whoever’s Late Will Drown! (2023), and My Grandfather – DM (2022).[1][2]

In addition to theatre, Zenkov has worked in film and digital media, including the short film Po Chesnoku! and interactive media projects such as Save the New Year!.[3]

His work has been presented at festivals and competitions, including The Monthly Film Festival (USA) and the international project “World of Russian Theatre” by Teatral magazine.[3][1]

Zenkov is also the author of academic and practice-based publications on acting, directing, and neuroscience, including Manifesto of the Doctor as Drama Director: Medicine as Performance, Care as Theatre and 101 Dialogues for Actor Training.[4][5]

He has a background in emergency medicine and worked as a paramedic, which informs his interdisciplinary approach to performance and actor training.[6]
