Biography
Dickie was born in Aberdeen, on the 16th of March 2005.
Dickie went to Ferryhill Primary School, attended secondary school at Harlaw Academy, and is currently studying a Batchelor's Degree in Biology at the University of Aberdeen.
Dickie started Athletics in 2018, and competed mainly in middle distance events, however towards the end of his athletic career he did more 400m events[1]. He competed in Laser Run, representing Great Britain in the Boys Under 15 category, placing 15th overall and making the 1st place team[2].
In October 2021, Dickie attended a UK Sport "From Home 2 The Games" campaign. He was one of 9 athletes selected for the British Weightlifting Talent Transfer Programme in January 2022[3]. Since then, he has consistently competed and notably competed for Scotland at the 2025 Celtic Nations Championships[4], won the 2025 British Age Group Championships, and placed 3rd at the 2025 British Universities & Colleges Sport Weightlifting and Para Powerlifting Championships[5][6].
In 2024, Dickie was elected Weightlifting Captain of Aberdeen University Weightlifting Club, and in 2026 he was elected President of the club[7].
