On September 13 2015, Colón auditioned for the first season of La Banda, a Spanish-language competition series based in the United States. The judge panel was formed by Puerto Rican artist Ricky Martin, Italian singer-songwriter Laura Pausini, and Spanish musician Alejandro Sanz. Colón failed to gain the minimum of 75% of votes during his audition, but Martin decided to save him from elimination. He then went on to compete with and against other boys during the show, being put into bands formed by the judges and also performing as a soloist.
