Early life and musical background

Ethan Senger was born and raised in Woodstock, Georgia, a suburb in the northern Atlanta metropolitan area. His grandfather was a jazz guitarist, and Senger has said he first felt drawn to music at the age of five. By seven, he had picked up the guitar and begun performing.[5] As a young musician, Senger participated in the School of Rock program, performing covers of acts such as U2 and Van Halen. He later studied guitar under Benjamin Ryan Williams, a musician associated with the Indigo Girls. By his late teens, he had started writing and recording original music.[5][6]

In 2023, Senger released his second EP, Standing Still. The four-track collection was produced by Andy Park, whose credits include work with Death Cab for Cutie and Noah Gundersen, and was mastered by Greg Calbi and Steven Fallone at Sterling Sound.[4] The lead single "Everything" was named "Best Song of the Month" by SongwriterUniverse in March 2024.[3] The EP received coverage from independent music outlets including Music Mecca, which described Senger as an "indie singer-songwriter" delivering a "catchy and cathartic" EP.[4]

In 2025, Senger auditioned for Season 23 of American Idol in New York City, performing his original song "Something to Write About" and a cover of Keith Urban's "Somebody Like You."
