Exclusive Resorts is an American private destination club founded in 2002 by brothers Brad Handler and Brent Handler, along with Tom Filippini.[1] The company operates a membership-based luxury travel network in high-end vacation residences and related hospitality services.


In 2004, majority ownership of Exclusive Resorts was acquired by AOL co-founder Steve Case.[2] The company expanded its property portfolio and membership base during the 2000s as part of the broader growth of the destination club segment within the luxury travel industry.[3]

Brad Handler served as chairman and chief executive officer from 2002 to 2009.[4] As of the mid-2020s, the company is led by chief executive officer James Henderson.[5]

Exclusive Resorts operates as part of The Exclusive Collective, a luxury travel platform that also includes the short-term rental brand onefinestay.[6] In December 2025, The Exclusive Collective announced an agreement to acquire Inspirato, subject to customary closing conditions including shareholder approval.[7]
