FTN Motion is a New Zealand-based electric motorcycle manufacturer, founded in 2020 and headquartered in Hamilton, New Zealand. The company produces the Streetdog range of moped-class electric motorcycles, designed for urban commuting. FTN Motion distributes its products in New Zealand and Australia.

History
FTN Motion was founded in 2020 by engineers Kendall Bristow, Luke Sinclair, and Saskia Thornton during the COVID-19 lockdown.[1] Bristow and Sinclair, both engineers, began developing an electric motorcycle concept while based in Auckland, initially converting a push bike into an electric prototype in their garage.[2]
The company was accepted into the Victoria University of Wellington's Creative HQ incubator programme, which allowed the founders to reduce their working hours and develop the business before eventually committing to it full-time.[1]
The name FTN Motion is an abbreviation of the phrase "f*** the norm".[3]
Products
FTN Motion produces two models under the Streetdog brand. Both share a retro-inspired, minimalist design philosophy described by the founders as blending the aesthetic character of analogue motorcycles with the practicality of electric vehicles.[4]
Streetdog50
The Streetdog50 is a moped-class electric motorcycle with a top speed of 50 km/h and a range of up to 180 km when fitted with a second battery.
Streetdog80
The Streetdog80 is the company's flagship model, offering a top speed of 80 km/h and a range of up to 140 km with a second battery.
Both motorcycles feature removable batteries, built-in lockable storage, and a wheel lock and alarm system.[5]
The Streetdog name is a reference to co-founder Kendall Bristow's dog, Mac, whose image appears on the motorcycle's display screen when the bike is switched on.[3]
