Fabian Basha (born; 2 March 1985) is an Albanian singer, songwriter, music producer, and television personality. He is a founding member of the Hip-hop group Produkt 28.[1][2][3]

Aside from his musical career, Basha has served as a music director for various national festivals and television programs, including Dancing with the Stars Albania.[4][2][5]

Early life and education

Basha was born in Tirana, Albania in 1985. He went to University of Arts of Arts, in Tirana where he studied stage directing. He finished his studies as a Stage director in 2008.[6]

Career

Produkt 28

In 2002, Basha co-founded the group Produkt 28 alongside Alban Kondi and Turjan Hysko. The group gained national recognition at the 2003 Mikrofoni i Artë festival, winning the public prize for their song "Me Beso."[7]

The group released two studio albums: Udhekryq (2004)[8] and Një Kat më Lart (2007).[9] During this period, they received several awards at major Albanian music festivals, including second prize at Top Fest 3 (2006) and Top Fest 4 (2007), and the "Best Group" award at Kënga Magjike 2008 for the song "Misi Im."[10]

Solo and production work

Basha was the backing singer for Luiz Ejlli at the Eurovision 2006. After Produkt 28 took a break, Basha began concentrating on producing music and pursuing solo ventures. He was a soloist at the 61st annual Festivali i Këngës in 2022 with the song "Një Gotë."[11]

Basha operates the production studio "Fabrika" (formerly "Efekt"), where he has produced and engineered tracks for artists such as West Side Family, Big Basta, and Lore.[12]

Television and media

Basha hosted Vizion Plus youth-centered show "Next" from 2008-15; he became an authorial member of the show's production team until 2022. Basha has been the music director at "Miss Universe Albania" pageant since 2009 and was also the music director/narrator at "Dancing with the Stars Albania" from 2010-18.[13][14]

Personal life

Basha has been in a long-term relationship with Olta Ahmetaj since 2005.[15] The couple has twin sons, Tristan and Liam, born in 2013.[16]
