The company operates under the Bastian PLC Group, alongside Outfox Energy, Home Energy, and One Business Energy.[1]
Operations
The company's current headquarters is situated in London, where it manages its product development, sales operations, and customer support, but was previously headquartered in Leicester from 2009 to 2021.[1]
Fischer Future Heat markets its products to domestic customers across the UK, focusing on electric heating solutions designed for homes without access to mains gas or those seeking alternatives to traditional central heating systems.[2]
In 2015, the company expanded its operations to include a commercial division, focused on providing heating systems for businesses.[3]
Fischer operates through a direct-to-consumer sales model, offering consultation, supply, and installation services for its heating products.[4]
History
Fischer Future Heat was founded in 2009 by Keith and Maria Bastian as the UK distributor of Fischer heating products, which are manufactured in Germany.[5] In 2015, the Bastians acquired Fischer Germany, bringing both companies under common ownership.[6]
Over time, their product range has come to include additional home energy systems such as electric boilers, hot water systems, and air conditioning units.[7][8][9]
Products
Fischer's product range includes electric heaters, electric boilers, electric water heating systems, air conditioning units, air source heat pumps, and solar photovoltaic (PV) modules with battery storage.[10]
Electric radiators
The company’s electric radiators are wall-mounted units that incorporate the company’s patented 40mm HeatCore technology, which forms the central thermal storage component of the system.
The HeatCore is manufactured from chamotte, a ceramic material composed of silicon dioxide and aluminium oxide. Within Fischer radiators, the HeatCore absorbs thermal energy when electricity is supplied to it. The stored heat is then gradually released into the room, allowing the radiator to continue emitting warmth even after electrical input has reduced.
The radiators operate in conjunction with a wireless thermostat that monitors room temperature and regulates the electrical charge delivered to the HeatCore. This system allows the radiators to adjust their output according to the heating requirements of each room.[11]
Electric boilers and water heating
The Aquafficient is an electric water heater that provides hot water without the need for a traditional tank. It uses patented thermal storage technology and a phase change material (heat battery) to store heat energy.[12] The water heater delivers hot water by passing cold water along its heat exchanger, heating it with stored energy, and then circulating it through radiators and pipework within the property.[13]
Renewable energy and climate systems
In addition to electric heating products, Fischer Future Heat distributes air conditioning systems known as the "Cool Comfort".[9]
The company also markets air-source heat pumps, powered by Hitachi, which extract heat from outside air to provide space heating and hot water.[7]
Recognition and certifications
The company holds accreditation under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), a UK certification standard for installers and products used in small-scale renewable energy systems.[14]
They have also received the Feefo Platinum Trusted Service Award on numerous occasions, which highlights businesses that maintain high levels of customer service ratings over multiple years.
The company has received the award in the following years:
