History

Formed in 2011, the band is composed of Daniel Rawsi (drums), Leo Fernández (guitars), Horacio Pozzo (keyboards), Claudio Lafalce (bass, guitars and bass pedals), and Tom Price (vocals).

In its early lineup, Genetics included three members from the group Rael, active during the 1990s: Rawsi, Pozzo and Ignacio Rodríguez. Claudio Lafalce and Leo Fernández later joined the band, and in 2015 Tom Price became lead vocalist following the death of Ignacio Rodríguez.

From its inception, Genetics has specialized in the comprehensive recreation of Genesis's classic period (1970–1980), including full live performances of the band's albums as well as the visual and theatrical elements of their original shows, with costumes and characterizations of Peter Gabriel.

Throughout its career, the band has performed the entirety of Genesis's albums from that period, including Selling England by the Pound, Seconds Out, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, A Trick of the Tail and Wind & Wuthering, as well as shows based on historic tours such as the so-called Black Show.[1]

Among their notable performances in Buenos Aires are concerts at the Teatro Ópera (Lyceum 1980), the Teatro Gran Rex (Selling England by the Pound) and numerous performances at the Teatro Coliseo, where the band has developed much of its stage activity. Genetics has also performed in several Latin American countries, including Chile, Brazil, Mexico and Peru, presenting these same productions.[2][3]

Collaborations with Steve Hackett

Genetics has developed an ongoing collaboration with Steve Hackett, former guitarist of Genesis, with whom it regularly performs live in Latin America.[4][5]

Their first joint performances took place in 2015 at the Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires, followed by concerts in Peru in 2016, including the Gran Teatro Nacional del Perú in Lima.

In 2023, the collaboration expanded with a Latin American tour featuring the repertoire from the live album Seconds Out, considered one of Genesis's most representative works.[6] The tour included performances in Lima, Rio de Janeiro (Vivo Rio), Niterói, São Paulo (Espaço Unimed) and Santiago de Chile, concluding at the Luna Park arena in Buenos Aires before an audience of approximately 7,000 people.[7]

In 2026, Genetics and Hackett undertook a more extensive Latin American tour, adding performances in Mexico (including Mexico City and Guadalajara), along with additional dates in Peru, Brazil, Chile and Argentina. The tour included cities such as Lima, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Santiago de Chile and Concepción, and concluded at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, one of the city's main concert venues.[8][9]

The tours carried out in 2023 and 2026 established a sustained artistic association between Hackett and Genetics in Latin America, reflected in their joint live performances of Genesis's classic repertoire.[4]
