  • Comment: See WP:NAUTHOR, and it looks like LLM / AI is getting in the way here. The convention that applies here is that it's not what the subject says or writes that matters, it's what other people say or write about the subject. So specific independent reviews of the author's books would help, but here there appears to be just one book, a few "cover quotes" and no specific reviews in reliable sources. Ideally we need two books and two sources of each book.
Moreover there are some details here which are unsourced, which is contrary to the requirements of WP:BLP. ChrysGalley (talk) 17:28, 21 January 2026 (UTC)

Career

Author

In 2016, he published (via Pitch Publishing[8]) Calcio's Greatest Forwards: Serie A's Finest Attackers, a book examining Italy's most celebrated attacking players. Players included ranged from Silvio Piola, Gigi Riva through to the modern era of then-active Alessandro Del Piero and Francesco Totti.

The book includes a foreword by Gabriele Marcotti and player introductions by notable names such as; James Horncastle, John Foot (author of Calcio! a A History of Italian Football), and Andy Brassell. Marcotti wrote:

"George Rinaldi has brought together these different figures in this book. It's a labour of love and a celebration of legends who thrived with the odds stacked against them in a culture that still seems more comfortable with the men at the other end of the pitch."

Calcio's Greatest Forwards was reviewed across numerous online publications and stocked by retailers Waterstones, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Foyles. He has discussed the book, as well as his love for sports writing, journalism and more in interviews with Of Pitch and Page[9] and Soccerphile[10]

Reception

Calcio's Greatest Forwards received generally good feedback from reviews. Steve Amoia of WorldFootballCommentaries.com described it as “a notable work on Serie A forwards.” RetroFootballBlog.com called it “a must for footy nostalgia fans and anyone with an interest in Italian football.”

Of Pitch and Page highlighted the illustrations and design, describing it as “a winter warmer.”[11] The book was also selected as Book of the Week in the Netherlands by Ping-E-lieër magazine.

Personal life

Rinaldi is married and lives in the United Kingdom. He works as the social media executive for BBC Cymru Wales.
