The Gold Star Ride Foundation
The Gold Star Ride Foundation is an American non-profit[1] based in Roseville, MN [1] with a mission of comforting, supporting, and providing benefits to Gold Star Families. The term "Gold Star Ride" is in reference to the use of the Service Flag [2] to recognize the death of a family member in service of the US Armed Forces.
The Gold Star Rides
Since its founding in 2016, the foundation has made a specific commitment to arriving to honor Gold Star Families via motorcycle, many times in a group. The organization also uses motorcycle rides as a fund-raising mechanism, among other ways to raise revenue. The foundation's Executive Director, Navy veteran Anthony Price, has published memoirs of some of the foundation's efforts to visit and honor the sacrifices of Gold Star Families throughout the United States in the book Yours, Very Sincerely and Respectfully. [3] As of 2026, the foundation has logged over 155,000 miles on the motorcycle, visited over 550 families, and continually updates supporters via its vlog and social media channels. [4]
Media Coverage
The Gold Star Ride Foundation and its Executive Director have been featured in the media on news broadcasts in several US States. The coverage has been generally positive and highlights the mission and activities of the Gold Star Ride Foundation [5] [6]
Media coverage ranges from covering the foundation's presence at events and the philosophy of its mission to the activities of the foundation and its events. [7] The foundation has featured custom motorcycles, been present to honor veterans at memorial dedications, and to provide direct support to families. [8][9]
The foundation's Executive Director, Anthony "Token Squid" Price is often the featured speaker and public face of the organization, leading the rides on his distinct, foundation-themed motorcycle. [7][9][10] The foundation's efforts to present honorary plaques and to educate the public about Gold Star Families has been covered on both traditional media and on multiple podcasts, notably on The Tom Barnard Show and Adam Carolla Show.
